As a manufacturer, BLACKROLL® stands for high product quality and durability. That’s why we offer a 10-year warranty on the BLACKROLL RECOVERY BASE. This warranty covers the dimensional stability and durability of the mattress core materials, but not the cover. The cover is covered by the legally required 2-year warranty. Should a warranty claim arise regarding the BLACKROLL RECOVERY BASE during the warranty period, we, as the warranty provider, will, at our discretion, either repair the product free of charge or replace it with a defect-free item under the terms of this warranty. The geographical scope of this warranty statement is the Federal Republic of Germany. The warranty period begins on the date of delivery.

Limitations of the Warranty:

Defects resulting from improper use are excluded from the warranty; this includes cuts, tears, nicks, scratches, and stains that occur after delivery.

The warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages. The warranty therefore does not apply to damage caused by improper assembly, handling, or care.

The warranty does not cover damage to zippers or cover handles.

The warranty applies only to indoor use. The warranty does not apply if products have been used outdoors or in a damp environment.

The warranty does not apply to heavily soiled mattresses where inspection or repair is unreasonable from a hygiene standpoint.

The warranty does not cover discoloration: Over time, particularly due to exposure to UV rays and ozone, discoloration—typically yellowing—may occur. This does not affect the mattress’s performance in any way. Deviations from the nominal dimensions are not covered by the warranty: Mattresses, like mattress cores, are designed to be flexible and adaptable. Storage, transport, and especially use can cause mattress cores to deviate from their nominal dimensions. A tolerance of 20 mm in length and width is standard and does not constitute grounds for a replacement claim.

Furthermore, the warranty does not cover the initial, short-term odor: PUR foam has a faint, characteristic odor typical of the product. Due to the protective, airtight packaging of mattresses, a noticeable odor may develop after the packaging is removed. It is recommended to air out new mattresses. The odor should dissipate within a short time, at the latest after one week.

Moisture is not covered by the warranty: Exposure to moisture degrades the material properties of PUR foam. This promotes loss of firmness and material instability (sagging). Damage resulting from excessive exposure of mattresses or mattress cores to moisture is due to improper handling and cannot be recognized as a warranty claim. Clear signs of excessive moisture exposure include, in particular, mold, mildew stains, residual moisture, and the smell of urine.

Sleeping Indentations: Every person has a different body structure and places unique demands on their mattress. Some areas are subjected to greater stress than others. Over time, so-called sleeping indentations may form. A claim covered by this warranty exists only if a body indentation deeper than 20 mm appears within the first 2 years. If body indentations deeper than 20 mm develop at a later date, the mattress should be replaced due to intensive use.

How to measure a body indentation:

  • Place the mattress core on the floor (the cover must be removed)
  • Place a straight object on the mattress (e.g., a level, a folding rule, or a broom)
  • Measure the depth of the indentation with a ruler (without pressing the ruler or folding rule into the mattress core)
  • Take measurements at 3 points (left, center, right).

Important Note: This manufacturer’s warranty does not limit your statutory rights in the event of defects, and you may exercise these rights free of charge. Any existing statutory warranty rights therefore remain unaffected by this warranty. This warranty promise from the manufacturer does not infringe upon your statutory rights; rather, it enhances your legal position.

Please ensure that the product is securely packaged to prevent damage during shipping. For this purpose, you can use, for example, the plastic wrap in which the mattress was packaged upon delivery. To file a warranty claim, you must submit a copy of the purchase contract showing the delivery date so that we can verify that the warranty period has not expired.
