BLACKROLL® was founded in 2007 by Jürgen Dürr and developed Germany’s first fascia roller. Today, BLACKROLL® is represented in 57 countries with over 5,000 certified coaches.
It all started for us with the then-virtually unknown connective tissue fibers known as fascia. They not only envelop and stabilize muscles and organs, but are also densely packed with nerve endings, making them the human body’s largest sensory organ. That’s why we developed the first BLACKROLL®. Now a classic, it has been followed by many other products designed specifically for fascia.
Simply offering products isn’t enough for us. After all, success comes only through proper and regular use. That’s why we provide you with plenty of guidance and inspiration to help you use them correctly and stay motivated in your daily life

Today
As a leading provider of innovative health and recovery products, we have over 80 employees, are represented in 37 countries by more than 5,000 trained instructors, and help people in over 57 countries recover more effectively and stay fit and healthy.
We are proud of the development of our “recovery brand,” which has evolved from a highly effective product into a broad range of solutions for physical and mental activation and recovery in everyday life. We continue to work continuously on our products and services for your well-being.
2025
Following a very successful year, we are proud to have reached another milestone: As part of a management buyout (MBO), BLACKROLL® is joining forces with private equity investor KKA Partners. At the same time, Scott Zalaznik, an internationally experienced expert in growth, transformation, and digitalization, is taking on the role of CEO. For us, this development marks the beginning of a new chapter, one that is intended to accelerate our strategic vision and take BLACKROLL® to the next level.
2023
Marius Keckeisen returns to the company as CEO and, together with Head of Sales Thomas Viegener and Head of Marketing Andreas Mauch, takes over the management of BLACKROLL® AG.
2019
BLACKROLL® wins the ISPO Award for the RECOVERY PILLOW, a memory foam pillow specifically designed to improve sleep, and also takes home the GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2020.
Peter Rohn assumes the role of Managing Director, while Marius Keckeisen, as Chairman of the Board of Directors, focuses on strategic issues such as product innovation and internationalization. Another member of the Board of Directors is Bernd Wahler. Jürgen Dürr also joins the Board of Directors. With this leadership team, BLACKROLL® AG is ideally positioned to enter its next phase of growth. These new appointments have set the course for a successful future for the healthstyle company.
2018
Not only do all professional German soccer teams now use our products, but at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, more than half of the teams are even using BLACKROLL® to get ready for their matches.
2016
The original fascia roller is joined by additional variations featuring different surfaces and firmness levels, as well as new shapes and sizes. In addition, the first trigger tools for superficial fascia (NEEDLEROLLER) and the first vibration tools for pain relief (RELEAZER) are introduced to the market.
2013
Jürgen Dürr brings Marius Keckeisen on board, and BLACKROLL® AG is founded.
2010
At the German Football Association’s Sports Medicine Congress, Jürgen Dürr approaches Oliver Bierhoff to discuss equipping the national team with fascia rollers. Shortly thereafter, the BLACKROLL® is firmly integrated into the German team’s equipment. A milestone.
2009
At the largest physical therapy conference, BLACKROLL® wins the Thieme Publishing House Physiotherapy Award for the “product offering with the greatest benefit for the target group.” That same year, Jürgen Dürr sends a test kit to Dr. Robert Schleip. The fascia researcher is thrilled.
2007
Inspired by the concept of self-massage, Jürgen Dürr develops the first fascia roller produced in Germany, featuring a unique, patented design.
