The RECOVERY BASE 2.0 is a multi-talent when it comes to hardness levels. You can choose between a total of 8 different configurations with varying degrees of hardness.

The foam core consists of two different foam layers. One hard side (purple) and one soft side (green). If you compare the firmness rating with other manufacturers, the green side corresponds to a firmness rating of H2 and the purple side to a firmness rating of H4. Depending on how you turn the core, you can sleep on the hard or soft side. In addition, both foam layers feature a special cut pattern for side sleepers, allowing the shoulders and pelvis to sink in. If you primarily sleep on your back or stomach, you can rotate the core 180 degrees so that your upper body rests on the supportive part.

By simply turning and flipping the mattress, you can experience 4 different firmness levels. In addition, you have the option of placing the integrated Softbalance topper on top. The integrated topper allows the mattress to conform to the contours of your body and provides pressure relief. With the optional use of the topper, the RECOVERY BASE 2.0 offers 8 different configuration options.

The RECOVERY BASE 2.0 is produced in Germany.

Need 1 – Temperature Regulation: CELLIANT® Technology

The body spends about two hours each night in the deep recovery phase. During this time, it builds muscle, repairs micro-injuries, and regulates hormones. If your body overheats or gets too cold during this process, the phase is interrupted—and the repair remains incomplete. This is exactly where CELLIANT® comes in: Minerals embedded directly into the fibers absorb body heat and reflect it back into the tissue as infrared light. The result is measurable—improved local blood circulation, higher oxygen saturation in the tissue, and more restful sleep phases.

CELLIANT® is approved in the EU as a Class I medical device. This is not a marketing distinction, but a category with clinical requirements.

Need 2 – Pressure Relief: Memory Foam

You don’t wake up because your shoulder is sore. You wake up because your body has been turning every few minutes for hours to redistribute the pressure. Each of these micro-movements pulls you out of deep sleep—even if you don’t remember any of it in the morning. This is exactly where viscoelastic foam makes the difference: It reacts to body heat and pressure, sinking deeper where needed and providing support where your back needs stability. The result isn’t just “softer.” It means less tossing and turning. More deep sleep. Better recovery.

Need 3 – Flexibility: Configurable Foam Core

An athlete’s body is never just one way. During the competitive season, you carry tension that you don’t have in the off-season. After an injury, you suddenly find yourself sleeping on the other side—consciously, because you have to. During the build-up phase, you need more back support; during recovery week, you want to sink in deeper. Sleep positions aren’t static—especially not over the course of years. Until now, there hasn’t been a mattress that could adapt to all of this. With the RECOVERY BASE 2.0, there is.

Eight configurations using three adjustment screws. Two core sides—green is softer, purple is firmer. Two rotation directions—shoulder and hip cutouts in the front or back, depending on which side you’re currently sleeping on. Topper in or out. This covers all firmness levels from H1 to H4. You can switch it at home in two minutes, without any tools.
