The morning sun shines down on the field at the FC Bayern Campus. 10 a.m. The U19 team has long since found its rhythm. The ball is moving. Fast. Precise. Hardly a single unnecessary touch. Every movement flows smoothly. Short commands, sharp changes of direction, no downtime—every action has pace.
It takes a moment to get used to how fast the game is played here. Passes fly from player to player, and the coaches count aloud—one, two, three. Their eyes are constantly searching for the next open player. A ball goes out of bounds; before it even comes to rest, the next one is already flying back onto the field. “Let’s keep going!” the coach shouts.

Who’s behind the system?
The production team’s drone hovers over the U19s, just a few meters above the field. “We don’t have this every day,” says Ben Zetzsche, the U19 team manager. “But the guys are used to performing—whether the cameras are rolling or not. We film every practice here for our analysis.”
A conversation with him reveals just how much goes into this system.

Standing still? That’s not an option.
Yll, Ari, and Roy from the U19 team know this too. In addition to technical skills like dribbling, strength in one-on-one situations, and technique, the boys also work on other strengths every day.
They know it’s not just about being good with the ball—it’s also about taking responsibility. Confidence in their own actions, maturity in their demeanor, and how they treat one another play just as big a role.
Both on and off the field, it’s about standing up for one another, integrating new players, and making the best of every situation.

Success is no accident?
Back on the field. Success here is no accident. A conversation with him reveals just how much thought goes into this system.
They understand the significance—and the responsibility—that comes with being part of one of the most prestigious clubs in German soccer.
For them, one thing is clear: Anyone who wears this crest represents more than just themselves. It’s about staying focused, taking responsibility, and conducting themselves appropriately both on and off the field.
Lunch break.
After the morning session, everyone gathers in the cafeteria. Here, too, nothing is left to chance: fresh food, large signs with nutritional recommendations above the buffet. As the players eat, the room fills up; a few FC Bayern basketball players join them, some of whom are well over two meters tall. You automatically duck your head as they walk in. The campus brings together everything needed for this: training fields, a basketball arena, a gym, a rehabilitation area, a comprehensive medical department, Athletic Hill, and its own stadium.
The Work Behind the Scenes
To keep up with the workload, a strong physical and mental foundation is essential. The athletic trainer explains in detail what goes into that. Before the afternoon session, the guys all warm up together in the gym.
“Staying consistent—that’s the art of it.”
To perform at this level over the long term takes more than just training.
The guys know that consistency is the real challenge—physically, but above all mentally.
As the intensity increases, the differences become apparent in the details: movements become less precise, decisions harder to make, and how they handle pressure and criticism changes.
This is exactly where it’s decided who can consistently perform at the highest level.
Fun & Ambition
We meet the three guys later at Athletic Hill. Here, too, there isn’t a single second when the guys let up or just go through the motions.
“I was first!”
“No way, let’s race again!”
Despite all their competitive spirit, the boys also find time for fun on set. In the process, they reveal the playful, laid-back way they interact with one another.
Gym / Recovery
After an intense day with two training sessions and the photo shoot, the guys take it easy on the AIR LOUNGER, while the quiet hum of the COMPRESSION BOOTS and the FASCIA GUN fills the room. “When you get tired, you notice it right away on the field. Your moves aren’t as sharp anymore. Staying consistent—that’s the art of it. Physically, but above all mentally.” Setbacks are also part of the process for the guys. After an intense day, the dynamic shifts. Their movements become calmer, and their focus shifts. Recovery isn’t an extra—it’s a prerequisite.
Setbacks are just as much a part of everyday life as progress. What matters is how the players deal with them and what routines they develop to get back to their level.
Whether it’s targeted recovery, individual routines, or small habits in daily life—it’s precisely these details that make the difference in the long run.
Where Dreams Come True
From the stands at the Campus Stadium, you can see the scale of what the boys are working toward. Lennart Karl and Jamal Musiala have played here—and today they play for the pros at the nearby Allianz Arena.
It’s unclear whether all the young players at the Campus will eventually make it to the grand Allianz Arena. One thing is certain: The FC Bayern Campus offers the ideal conditions for chasing the dream of becoming a pro.
