BLACKROLL® at the DATEV Challenge Roth 2025: A day full of excitement, outstanding performances, and team spirit
On July 6, 2025, Roth once again became a mecca for triathlon. With approximately 3,400 individual participants, 650 relay teams, and some 300,000 enthusiastic fans lining the course, the DATEV Challenge Roth was once again the world’s largest long-distance triathlon event. A look back full of emotions!
Recovery Experts Hard at Work On-Site
Once again this year, BLACKROLL® had the honor of being on site as the official recovery partner, with its team and equipment, to support numerous athletes using various recovery tools. At the BLACKROLL® booth, the COMPRESSION BOOTS, fascia rollers, and the FASCIA GUN helped many participants’ strained muscles recover quickly. Our sleep products were also on site and served as a true oasis of relaxation.
Our BLACKROLL® relay team: Stronger Together
With tremendous enthusiasm, our BLACKROLL® team also competed in the relay event. Nina started as the swimmer and emerged from the water after a solid 1:02 to run to the transition area, where Hendrik was already waiting on his road bike. Once the transponder was handed off, he set off. After 5 hours and 55 minutes of intense effort and 180 kilometers on the course, Hendrik was able to dismount. For the final leg, Robert crossed the finish line after a 42.2-kilometer run in an excellent time of 4 hours and 8 minutes. A tremendous team performance that shows just how essential team spirit and determination are in extreme sports. Visibly exhausted but with a smile on her face, Nina said, “Even while we were still in the finish area, we told ourselves: We’ll be back next year! Even though we’re sore all over and have to go through the massage rollers and put on the COMPRESSION BOOTSfirst , we want to experience that crazy atmosphere surrounding the event all over again!”
A Frenchman in the lead: Sam Laidlow wins in Roth
In the women’s race, Germany’s Laura Philipp triumphed in 8:18:18, crossing the finish line exhausted but beaming, with a big smile on her face, at the age of 38. In a thrilling race, France’s Sam Laidlow took the men’s title with a time of 7:29:35. A German one-two finish nearly materialized, as Jonas Schomburg crossed the finish line in second place. Jan Stratmann, also a German triathlete, took third place.
Recovery Area at the Finish Line
In the spacious recovery area set up at the finish line, twelve comfortable AIR LOUNGERS were available, equipped with COMPRESSION BOOTS, allowing athletes to relax fully and let their muscles recover.
The grand finale: the awards ceremony! This allowed them not only to savor their success but also to ensure optimal recovery for the challenges ahead.
