Train hard. Recover properly.

Recovery begins after your workout. If you actively support it, you’ll be back in action faster—and perform better in your next workout than in the last.

Train. Recover. Get stronger.

Good performance isn’t a coincidence. It’s the result of training—and what comes after.

How much time do you invest in training? And how much in recovery? Most athletes neglect exactly that—and wonder why they aren’t making progress. But active recovery isn’t just a bonus. It’s a prerequisite for improving performance.

Why Recovery Matters

Every athletic effort leaves its mark on the body: energy stores are depleted, muscle fibers are damaged, and the pH level changes. It’s only during the recovery phase that this damage is repaired, metabolic waste products are broken down, and performance is restored. If you train again too soon, you’ll start the next session already exhausted—and your performance will plummet from one workout to the next.

Active vs. Passive Recovery

There are two forms: passive recovery—that is, sleep, nutrition, and relaxation—and active recovery, in which you specifically promote blood flow, loosen muscles, and relieve tension. The two go hand in hand. If you rely solely on passive recovery, you’re wasting your potential.

How long does the body need?

That depends on intensity, fitness level, and the stresses of daily life. While professionals can train several times a day, recreational athletes may need up to 72 hours to recover after an intense session. Your recovery heart rate—measured immediately after your workout—gives you a good indication of how quickly you’re recovering.
